New Live CD

React: Robert Rich and Ian Boddy

A live recording from last Summer’s unique concert in Philadelphia for Star’s End 30th anniversary. Ian and I rehearsed intensely for one day, trying to come up with some new material so we could make this event special. Jeff Towne from Echoes recorded the concert, then I edited, mixed and mastered it after I got home in August. It’s full of energy, with some dynamic surprises.

If you are reading this here, you no doubt noticed a huge change in my site. Welcome! We’ve been working on this for a while. My friend Jason Clark in Louisville KY has pulled in the resources of his design firm, VIA Studio, to help me come up with a look and feel that more closely suits my musical vocabulary. Now I have a lot to learn, as I try to fill the new framework with content. You might experience some gaps and glitches as I get up to speed with Web 2.0, but I think we’ll see a more interactive and elegant design that can grow to accomodate new ideas. I encourage your feedback when this change occurs. These notes now appear in a blog format, so you should feel free to comment. Please be patient though. It may take us a while to get the glitches out.

WOW. This new site design is fantastic! The old one was so 90’s ;-). About damn time for a change! Can’t think of anything else beyond that to say…everything appears to be working just fine.

Hey Robert. Dude, I LOVE “React”! I purchased it last night via musiczeit.com in FLAC. It sounds fantastic and the album art is quite nice too. I think my favorite track so far is “Blue Moon”, just because it’s all “shimmery” and the wind instruments and guitar stuff remind me a bit of “Propagation”, which one of my favorites. “AxD” is another instant hit with me…

Keep up the great work, and I can’t wait to hear more from you and from Ian.

Speaking of collaborations, and on another note so to speak, do you think there will ever be another Amoeba release? I still listen to and enjoy “Pivot” quite a lot.

Thanks for the kind words about the site and the new CD. For Pete, to respond to the question about Amoeba: Rick and I really want to do a third album, but we’re not really sure there’s enough interest to justify the year it might take to complete – especially considering we live 1000 miles apart. It may happen regardless – I’m sorry it has to take a ten year wait, though. – Robert

I just got the flac version and it sounds good. I burned a cd with roxio that supports sony ‘cd text’, and I can see the song titles in my new car.

  6. Joe says:

I have an ipod too, but it can’t play flac files. Lame.
