Hi folks. I have been quiet for a while, because I am hard at work on a new album. More about that soon. First bit of news is that “Filaments” has made it onto several people’s lists of best ambient albums of 2015. These include the Echoes Listener Poll, Zone Music Reporter, and Ambient Music Guide. I am really honored and grateful for the kind recognition.
Next to mention is an upcoming sleep concert at Moogfest, which is May 19-22 in Durham NC. Festival passes are available here. Before that, in late March I’ll be spending a week in Boston doing an artist residency at Berklee School of Music. There might be some live event that grows from that, but I’m not sure yet. So far, those are my only travel plans for the year.
That brings us to the last bit of news, a little teaser. I am nearly finished with the next album, which I am hoping to have ready for release some time in April. It is called “What We Left Behind” and I’ll have a lot more to say about it in the coming months. It explores the idea of Earth long after we are gone, and uses the more primal side of my musical palette. Stay tuned, and thank you for listening! – Robert
