Ylang is Here

The new album has arrived! We just updated our order form, to add Ylang and the t-shirt. Dixie and I will be shipping packages for the next several days, getting press and radio copies out, along with the first orders. I’m really happy with this album, and I hope you like it too. - RR

  1. Looking forward to it. Nice to see you are playing live directly
across the street from my home at St. George the Martyr Church in Toronto. That’s pretty cool.
Best of luck on the tour…

  4. i am really looking forward to hearing this. i have been craving some good quality “world music”
will the album be available as lossless download anywhere? downloads are more practical for me than cds at the moment..

  5. Regarding lossless downloads, I suspect I’ll get a FLAC version up to Musiczeit within the next month. First, I have to deal with the CDs, promotion and tour preparation. If you check the site in a month or so, look on the Ylang discography page and see if there’s a button that says “Musiczeit”, that will be a link to lossless. - RR

I ordered ‘Ylang’ today… I’ll resist the temptation to listen to the tracks here and will instead wait for that first impression ‘old school’-style with I give it its first spin in Ye Olde Tyme Compakt Disktrola.

    Can’t wait…

  9. Hi Robert,
Just want to say that I enjoy ‘Ylang’ immensely. The t-shirt is very cool too! My friends and I saw you live at the CET Soto theater in San Jose, CA in 2006, and we can’t wait to see you perform there again this coming June.

    Best Regards,
    Harry

  12. Hi Robert!!! My order with CD and t-shirt just arrived today, prompt and safely. Thank you very much for this absolutely amazing sonic experience!!! “Ylang” is musically, technically and visually brilliant, a true and precise piece of art each ambient fan and collector is dreaming about. Once again, thank you very very much for making all this possible, Robert. And thanks to all guest musicians too. The waiting time for your new album was quite long, but it was definitely worthwhile. And of course I really enjoy the t-shirt too. All the best and have a nice time in California.

With friendly greetings, Richard from Slovakia

  14. Hi Robert! I got my copy of Ylang and the t-shirt this past Monday, and it has been in constant rotation since! I really love it, and think it’s one of your best yet! It has a very earthy, organic feel to it. The piano is a nice addition - I think this is the first of your releases (not counting “Open Window” or “Eleven Questions” with Markus Reuter) to have piano elements incorporated, and it’s a nice touch! It’s nice to hear so much flute, as well - always one of my favorite elements of your CDs. Honestly, this CD makes me feel like I did in the 90s, when I first discovered “tribal ambient”, and it’s a good feeling! Thanks again for releasing such original music - I’m among those you referred to who “seek excellent sound”. Best of luck on the tour, as well! :)

Also, I love the t-shirt! I felt so bad when I missed out on the Glurp t-shirt back in 2001, so I was glad to see you finally had a new t-shirt available!
