5. Steve - I would love to play in the UK again. I played in London in 2001, and before that in 1989 (a long time ago!) I don’t exclude any possibilities. It just needs a person over there with many connections who can promote such a concert and make sure it earns enough money to cover expenses. I played in Riga Latvia 18 months ago - they had funding to bring me over. That’s all it takes. Well, and an audience who wants to come listen of course… :-) The same applies to any country. The best approach would be to find someone who can help organize a string of concerts around Europe and I would fly there with a minimal rig, and we could drive around and do a bunch of gigs to help share the expense. It’s possible, just a lot of work. - RR

6. Excited for the Denver tour date! I emailed the address given for more info about the house concert, but I’m definitely interested. Jealous of those KC folks getting to see you in a planetarium. Will planetarium effects be utilized (projected stars, etc.)?

10. Hi Deb - I would love to play in Memphis, but it seems my friend and organizer there, Allan Bogle, got way too busy with life, and the dates started slipping until … well, nothing. The only vague possibility would be a weekday after Sunday May 23. I have been making attempts to get a firm date but until Allan and I talk, we should assume it’s not going to happen. Actually, I am having trouble reaching several people, so … a word to anyone out there who has expressed interest in a show in their town: it takes a person to organize a show before it happens - it doesn’t just materialize, it’s a huge effort to get the word out. That personal help is absolutely needed! All the best - RR

12. We came for the concert in Chicago last night and absolutely loved the space, and the concert was predictably marvelous.

    Unfortunately, my partner is ill at this point and we felt we had to leave after you played. I particularly wanted to see Vir Unis as well but apparently he was to play last and we just didn’t have the stamina for it.

    The only beef I have is that people, especially near the bar, acted as if it were a private party (which, I gather, is to a certain extent what it was) and were making FAR too much noise during the performance, especially of a performance of this type. Several other people we talked to expressed the same enjoyment of the surroundings and irritation with the “ambience,” or one might say lack thereof, during the performance.

    Later it occurred to us that, as a private location (for instance, we could smoke) with probably a regular set of habitués who know each other, we should have expected such a thing but the truth is that we didn’t and it did mar our enjoyment of the performance to a certain degree at times. You yourself, about half-way through the show, seemed to be throwing a couple of rather “meaningful” glances in that direction before we heard someone ask for a little less noise. It didn’t have as much effect as we would have liked, but it was appreciated anyway.

    An older man sitting next to us asked us, immediately after the set, what we thought would have been a more appropriate venue for that type of ambient performance. I said either a cathedral or a planetarium.

    I was and am delighted to have finally been able to see you live. Your last performance was supposed to have been at an ornate temple on the northwest side somewhere, but it didn’t come to be so I’m appreciative of the opportunity.

    Hope the rest of the tour runs smoothly and I’d like to add my name to those that wish that you eventually make some of these concerts available as download-only purchases!

14. Hey Robert, listening to clips of your Ylang release! great stuff. A definite summer buy. At any rate, I see no dates in El Paso. The nearest is Santa Fe. Are you planning on being a part of Steve Roach upcoming SoundFest in October of this year? Please advise. Thanks and keep up the phonemenal work.

17. To Nebulus - I would love to play at the Alhambra. It would be a fantasy come alive. I just need someone to sponsor a concert, promote it and help cover expenses. I do plan to be performing in Portugal at the end of August, at the Boom Festival, near the Spanish border. - RR
