iPhone Somnium & Portugal

I’m still writing from the road. If you are near Seattle, come listen on Thursday July 1 at 8:00 PM, The Chapel Performance Space at Good Shepherd Center, 4649 Sunnyside Ave. N., Seattle (SW corner of 50th). Here are two other tidbits:

Somnium iPhone app:

Anyone with an iPhone or iPod Touch can now play hours of randomly crossfading loops extracted from the full Somnium for a mere $0.99. The app was created by Henry Bergin, the 14 year old son of John Bergin, my go-to guy for cover art. Cool family? Yup. Here’s the link to the Somnium app (and you’ll notice some of Henry’s sillier creations.)

Portugal Boom Festival:

About when I thought I was done touring, I got an invitation from Portugal to close out the Boom Festival on August 26 at the lake of Idanha-a-Nova in the mountains near the Spanish border. I should be starting my set around midnight after August 25, into the morning of the 26th. The set might merge into an improvisation with some of the other musicians at the festival, including perhaps my longtime acquaintance Jacque Dudon, a fellow microtonalist who creates his own optical synthesizers. Ishq and Murcof should also be there, among dozens of others from around the world, so we’ll have some cool sounds I think.
